Hello everyone and welcome to Dark Angel Times, the first of our new regular monthly newsletters letting you know about everything happening in The Reasoning’s world. It’s been a while since we were last in touch but that will change from now on!

The last twelve months have been manic. We had two headline tours in the UK and also supported the brilliant FISH. We’ve been over to Holland as well and had a really great time playing there, and it’s been fantastic to meet so many of you on our travels. And of course in October we released our second album, Dark Angel, and we’ve had some excellent reviews from the likes of Classic Rock and Powerplay magazines. As a massive “thank you” for giving us such a great year we’ve put up a free mp3 download – “Talk To Me” - on our website at www.thereasoning.com.

We’re really excited about what we’re up to and are making lots of plans for this year and beyond.

Marillion Weekend – Holland
Not long to go now! On Saturday 21 March we will be supporting Marillion at their biennial convention which is taking place in Port Zelande, Holland. This has become a major fixture in the Rock calendar now, and gets bigger and better each time! We are all massive Marillion fans and can’t wait to play there. We’ll be there all weekend, as well. We know quite a lot of you are also going, so let’s share some drinks and have a serious party! Back to top

Fish Convention
We are very pleased to announce that we have been added to the bill for the FISH Convention in August, taking place in Leamington Spa. This will be a 2 day event - 8th & 9th August 2009. On Saturday 8th August, the line up is FISH supported by Pendragon and Sunday 9th August the line up is FISH supported by The Reasoning. We had such a great time supporting FISH in November, so to have the opportunity to share a stage with him and his amazing band again is incredible. See you there! Back to top

April concert dates
We have 2 headline gigs lined up in April:
Saturday 25 April 2009 The Peel in Kingston
Sunday 26 April 2009 The Robin 2 in Bilston

These may well be the ONLY gigs we are doing this year other than the Marillion and FISH dates so don’t miss them! To make them that bit more special, we’ll be playing a longer set than on the last headline tour, including some songs we haven’t performed live before, and showcasing some new arrangements. And in next month’s Dark Angel Times we’ll have details of a competition for a special prize on each night! Support will be announced in the near future. Back to top

New Management
Many of you will know by now that we have appointed Graeme Hayter of Cathedral Management as our business manager and professional representative. Graeme is a long time friend and enthusiastic champion of ours, and has - in a previously unofficial capacity - already dedicated a great deal of time to assisting the band in various matters. With more than twenty years of international corporate experience, Graeme has acquired a reputation as a highly successful businessman, and his long-standing financial expertise will certainly be very valuable to us, particularly within the current economic climate. He’ll be at all the gigs, of course, with the usual pint of Guinness in hand, so come over and introduce yourselves!

Live DVD
We are currently working on putting together a special “bootleg” DVD of our show at the Robin 2 last November. The rushes are looking great, the sound quality is excellent, and as Graeme reckons this was the best performance of the autumn tour, we think you’ll love it! Back to top

Album Number 3
Our main focus this year will be on the third album, which is why we don’t have any more gigs planned at the moment. Matt and Dylan are back in the studio and bouncing new ideas around. They’re like kids in a sweetshop at the moment as they’ve completely re-jigged the studio, and have new keyboards and guitars to experiment with! We’ll be giving you regular updates on progress through Dark Angel Times, of course. Back to top
